Composing in Electronic Enviroments

• Use electronic environments for drafting, reviewing, revising, editing, and sharing texts
• Locate, evaluate, organize, and use research material collected from electronic sources, including scholarly library databases; other official databases (e.g., federal government databases); and informal electronic networks and internet sources
• Understand and exploit the differences in the rhetorical strategies and in the affordances available for both print and electronic composing processes and texts

Most people use electronic environments now for school and for work. Technology has changed and created an easier way for everyone to get their work done in a fast and efficient way. You can find research so much faster on the internet and using libraries with electronic catalogs. When composing from this topic you must decide what area to write from or where to search for your materials. Using Word Perfect in the past compared to using Microsoft Word now is huge difference in how technology has changed. You could only type a paper on Word Perfect, but on Microsoft Word you can do all sorts of things to help yourself create a better paper or essay. In my generation paper, I wrote about The Greatest Generation and had to cite a lot of work that I wasn't familiar with. Most websites have the different structures for citing work into your works cited page. I had a misunderstanding of how to incorporate my work with what I was writing. I have a much better understanding now and feel more confident writing an investigative report.

"People born in the Greatest Generation were born around 1900 to the early 1920’s. The Greatest Generation eventually became the parents of The Baby Boomer generation. Some people call this generation “The GI Generation” due to the people whom served in World War II. This generation had to rebuild the world after World War II. Sexism and racism were major issues in the United States during this time. Many people resorted to crime during this time. This generation made a huge step in American History and society making it miraculous. The Golden Gate Bridge and The Empire State building were built during the depression to help people find jobs. Banks were hit hard during this time as well; around 1,616 banks had closed due to bankruptcy. On August 14, 1935, another form of social security came available to the elderly so they could afford to live."

After I wrote this paper I quickly realized that I didn't write an investigative report even though I got a decent grade. I did place all of the proper grammar into it and I also monitored the structure. I should have done in-site texting from the sites I received my information then I could have just written it word for word and put quotes around it.
