• Learn to balance the advantages of relying on others with the responsibility of doing their part
• Use a variety of technologies to address a range of audiences

The writing process is by far the hardest part of writing. It takes multiple types of editing and reading to provide a good writing assignment. If you’re in a group assignment, you have to rely on others to provide all their facts for their part of the project and you learn to critique each others work so you can turn in an excellent assignment. Strategies can be starting an assignment early and giving you plenty of time to edit any issues within it. If I had started this portfolio sooner like I was supposed to, I wouldn't be worried about getting it done so I failed in this area. When I wrote my memoir on Twice Baked Potatoes, I took plenty of time to write my draft, edit it and turn it in for a final grade. I also made sure that a variety of audiences would be interested in it and in class we shared it with other classmates so they could critique it which was by far difficult to critique and to be critiqued. Doing all of this with my first assignment, it helped me prepare for my next assignments to come and allowed me plenty of time to create better work.

"We may have been a broken family but my dad never made us feel apart. My dad moved a year after we started having Sunday dinners due to his job. It was very upsetting knowing we wouldn't have that quality time with my dad anymore. The twice baked potatoes have had such a positive memory in my life and always bring a smile to my face thinking of the fun I shared with my dad and my brothers. I share a very strong bond with all three of them and they are still the most important men in my life. I hope one day my brothers and our families can all get together and make new memories together."

This paragraph in my memoir was the toughest part to write and it took time writing it because I didn't want to make my paper depressing or make anyone uncomfortable reading it. I wanted to make sure it attracted audiences that could relate to divorce as well as just a family bonding over dinner. I edited my paper over and over as well as writing a few different draft papers until I figured out exactly what I wanted to say. I think I enjoyed writing this assignment the most. I was worried about what to write at the beginning but when everything finally came together it made me very happy.
